Christmas Fair
The results are in Thursday, 02 December 2010 11:56 The figures for last Sunday's Christmas Fair aren't completely finalized yet, but provisionally the net profit is in the region of £6000 - an increase of 10% on last year! Thanks to all who supported the Fair, whether coming along to spend some of your hard-earned cash, and thanks especially to the impressive army of helpers. The number of people made it possible to cover all the stalls, and in particular to run the kitchen on a shift system and give people a rest!
Sixth Form Sierra Leone Trip
- £3000 donation towards Mission visit
Thursday, 14 October 2010 20:47 SAPA is very happy to support the "immersion experience" organised by the Edmund Rice Network, where twelve of the upper six students and several staff members will go to Sierra Leone (in October 2010), spending several days in Freetown, including visiting the slums, and also some time teaching in a primary school in Bo, Sierra Leone's second city. This is part of the Christian Brothers' mission, to reach out the to poor and marginalised of the world, and will be a valuable experience for the boys, who however are well aware of the saying, "You don't change Africa, Africa changes you".
Prep School and College Take delivery of New Equipment.
Monday, 17 May 2010 10:20 SAPA has recently been able to support both the Prep and the College with some new equipment. Mr Lochery has informed SAPA that new mats and a gym bar system have now been installed in the new hall. The Prep also received two large screen TV's and stands and some digital cameras for project work. The College has faired just as well, with the music department receiving a collection of new instruments. The collection ranged from a new drum kit, guitars and amps and a range of brass and woodwind instruments. The total investment by SAPA is nearly £11,000. Both Headmasters wished to thank all the parents for your continuing support. New PA System for College & Prep School. Monday, 08 March 2010 10:10 SAPA recently delivered to the college a new £1700 PA and speaker system, complete with stands, radio mic' and a 'flight case' on wheels, to both protect and make it easy to transport between the College and the Prep School. For many years, both have limped along with old very tired equipment, (in fact your Chairman left the College in 1979 and the same speakers are on the wall in the College Hall in 2010!). I am sure that they both will get great use of them over the years. They were used for the first time by SAPA at the St Patrick's Quiz and Hooley on March 19th.
