Third year
The following units are taught. Students are tested on each unit at the end of each topic.

- The Russian Revolution
- The Second World War
- The Vietnam War
- Civil Rights in America
- Ireland between 1950 and 1960
Fourth Year
Students sit Unit One of the GCSE History at the end of the fourth year and they are examined the following topics.
- The Causes of the First World War
- The Causes of the Second World War
- The Causes of the Cold War.
GCSE students will also complete a controlled assessment unit at then end of the fourth year on the role of Britain in World War One and World War Two
Fifth year
Students study two countries in-depth and are examined in these at the end of the year.
- Germany 1918 – 1939
- America 1918 – 1941
