GCSE History AQA Modern World History B 

Third year

The following units are taught. Students are tested on each unit at the end of each topic.

  • The First World War 1914 - 1918
  • The Russian Revolution
  • The Second World War
  • The Vietnam War
  • Civil Rights in America
  • Ireland between 1950 and 1960

Fourth Year

Students sit Unit One of the GCSE History at the end of the fourth year and they are examined the following topics.

  • The Causes of the First World War
  • The Causes of the Second World War
  • The Causes of the Cold War. 

GCSE students will also complete a controlled assessment unit at then end of the fourth year on the role of Britain in World War One and World War Two

Fifth year

Students study two countries in-depth and are examined in these at the end of the year.

  • Germany 1918 – 1939
  • America 1918 – 1941
