Year 5 English and English Literature GCSE – WJEC
This is the final year of this syllabus provided by WJEC – www.wjec.co.uk The coursework has been completed now and the exam schedule is as follows:
Tuesday 25th May – English Literature 2 hours 30 mins (70% Exam)
A context question and essay question on both:
• To Kill A Mockingbird (35%) 1 hour
• An Inspector Calls (35%) 1 hour
• A response to an unseen poem (10%) 30 mins
Tuesday 8th June – English Paper 1 (AM) 2 hours (30% Exam)
• 4 questions on a comprehension passage (15%) 1 hour
• Describe the scene essay (7.5%) 20 mins
• Written task – story based (choice of five options) (7.5%) 40 mins
Thursday 10th June – English Paper 2 (PM) 2 hours (30% Exam)
• 4 questions on two non-fiction/ media passages (15%) 1 hour
• Two writing tasks (no option) (15%) 1 hour

Write a letter to a friend …..
Write a speech aimed at adults about.
