    Year 1

    Unit Title: Number and Algebra 1

    In this unit, you should have learned:

    • Recognise approximate proportions of a whole and use simple fractions and percentages to describe these (L5)
    • Reduce a fraction to its simplest form by cancelling common factors (L5)
    • Add and subtract fractions by writing them with a common denominator (L6)
    • Multiply and divide fractions (L7)
    • Understand the effects of multiplying and dividing by a number between 0 and 1 (L7)
    • Calculate percentages (L5)
    • Order decimals to 3dps (L5)
    • Use equivalence between fractions, decimals and percentages (L6)
    • Use known facts, place value, knowledge of operations and brackets to calculate including using all four operations with two decimal places (BODMAS) (L5)
    • Begin to use formulae expressed in words (L4)
    • Construct, express in symbolic form and use simple formulae involving one or two operations (L5)
    • Use and interpret coordinates in all four quadrants (L5)

    Unit Title: Shape and Space 1

    In this unit, you should have learned:

    • Use a range of properties of 2D and 3D shapes and recognise symmetries of 2D (L5)
    • Be able to draw angles and know how to use the angles in a triangle and at a point (L5)
    • Solve problems involving the conversion of units and be able to estimate (L5)
    • Know the formula for the area of a rectangle (L5)
    • Classify quadrilaterals by properties of their shape (L6)
    • Deduce and use the formulae for the area of a triangle, parallelogram and volume of cuboids (L6)
    • Understand and use alternate and corresponding angles in parallel lines (L6)
    • Use LOGO (L6)
    • Visualise 3D shapes using 2D representations (L6)

    Unit Title: Number and Algebra 2 

    In this unit, you should have learned:

    • Use trial and improvement to solve equations (L6)
    • Construct and solve linear equations (L6)
    • Generate sequences using term to term definitions and find the nth term of a linear sequence (L6)
    • Plot straight line graphs and understand y=mx+c (L6)
    • Construct and understand graphs from real life situations (L6)

    Unit Title: Shape and Space 2 

    In this unit, you should have learned:

    • Polygons, interior and exterior angles (L6)
    • Use straight edge to do constructions (L6)
    • Circles, including circumference and area (L6)

    Unit Title: Probability 

    In this unit, you should have learned: 

    • Understand the probability scale runs from 0 to 1 (L5)
    • Select methods based on equally likely outcomes or experimental evidence as appropriate (L5)
    • Understand that experimental probability may produce different outcomes (L5)
    • Record probabilities in a sensible way, including space diagrams (L6)
    • Know that the sum of 2 mutually exclusive events is 1 (L6)
    • Understand relative frequency as experimental probability and use it to compare outcomes of an event (L7)

    Year 2

    Unit Title: Handling Data 

    In this unit, you should have learned:

    • Plan how to and collect data (L5)
    • Mean, mode, median and range (L5)
    • Interpret graphs including pie charts (L5)
    • Create and interpret line graphs (L5)
    • Collect data and know how to record the collecting (L6)
    • Use frequency diagrams (bar charts) for continuous and discrete data (L6)

    • Have ability to analyse bias in simple cases (L7)
