Saint Ambrose College is a Catholic community which expects of its members the highest standards of behaviour towards all those who form part of the school community.
We work together actively to promote an environment that is orderly and disciplined; a school in which care, courtesy and concern for others are central to how we behave.
The school is committed to developing in our pupils a set of values and beliefs which reflect the central themes of our school’s mission and that of the Holy Roman Catholic Church and of Blessed Edmund Rice; themes of presence, compassion and liberty. As such, we engender in our pupils an ability to distinguish between right and wrong, to be honest, compassionate and tolerant, and to show respect for others.
Putting this into practice, the school has a clear Code of Conduct, thorough behaviour management procedures and a robust system of rewards and sanctions.
In our College we recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all boys and staff. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where all are supported, respected and valued. We are alert to signs of abuse and neglect and follow procedures to ensure that all in our community receive effective support, protection and justice.

Saint Ambrose College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment. This includes our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, which can be found in the policy section of our website.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our students are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Visitors to College:
Whilst visiting the College we expect you to respect our staff and boys and to follow College procedures. IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS PLEASE INFORM THE DESIGNATED SENIOR PERSON BEFORE YOU LEAVE.
Please ensure that when visiting the College you:
- Sign in at College Reception
- Please provide your DBS certificate if applicable
- Wear, visibly, the Visitor’s badge at all times (Green lanyard - DBS checked Red lanyard - no DBS provided)
- Red lanyard visitors must be accompanied at all times
- Sign out and return the badge when you leave the premises
- Photography/recording videos are not permitted at any time
- In the event of a fire, an alarm will be activated. Please evacuate the building via the nearest exit, make your way to the rear yard and report to a senior member of staff, who has a record of the visitors on site.
