Key Stage 3

Key Stage 3 Curriculum

Students study a broad, balanced and rich curriculum at Key Stage 3.  The curriculum is designed to give students the necessary skills and knowledge in each subject area, so they are equipped to study them to GCSE and A-Level.  It also aims to develop the whole person, with students who are responsible citizens with strong moral values.

Students follow a fortnightly time-table, with five one-hour lessons per day.  The number of lessons for each year group is set out in the table below:

The language subjects students study at Key Stage 3, depend upon their current year group, as follows:

Students in Year 7, study either French or Spanish in Year 7.  They will then study this same subject in Year 8 and 9.  They will also study Latin in both Year 8 and 9.

Students in Year 8, study French and Spanish.  In Year 9, they will study Spanish, and either French or Latin.

Students in Year 9, study Spanish, and either French or Latin.
