Weekly Mass
Holy Mass is the focal point of our school week, and the eucharist is at the heart of our Catholic faith. Every Thursday we celebrate Mass in the Atrium, supported by local priests. Although attendance is voluntary, we regularly welcome over 250 students to Mass. Our celebrations are enhanced by student participation in singing, proclaiming the Word, and serving at the altar. We also celebrate wool-school Mass during Advent, Lent and for the Feast of St Ambrose, and we welcome our new Year 7 and bid farewell to our Y13 Leavers with family Masses at Holy Angels.
RECONCILIATION
Our students love to avail of the opportunity to make Confession each Half Term and at Advent and Lent as we help them meet their obligation as Catholics. Local priests support us in this endeavour and celebrate Services of Reconciliation for all Year Groups before inviting them to the sacrament.
CONFIRMATION
Our Chaplain and our Head of RE are Catechists within the Diocese of Shrewsbury. Although the sacramental programme is a parish activity the staff are able to support students in their faith journey. Confirmation is received by young people who are in Year 8 and above, usually around the age of 13, although adults who are converting to Catholicism also receive Confirmation.
