Photography Competition

Photography Competition 2019 - Voting is now closed!

Dear All

Thank you to everyone who submitted entries to the 5th Annual Photography Competition. We have again received a large number of wonderful photographs and, as ever, an eclectic range of subjects.

This catalogue includes the top 100 photographs and winners. Choosing both the top 100 and winners has again been a difficult task. The guiding principles were to include more photographs from boys than from parents, family members and staff, and to only accept one entry from each individual into the final 100.

Sadly, it was not possible to include everyone, and some entries needed to be excluded simply because entry details were not supplied or specifications followed. This year the smallest picture entered was just 25KB (large enough to print about the size of a postage stamp), and there were even entries sent via Word, PowerPoint, screenshots and, oddly, an Excel file. On the back cover of the catalogue this year, I have included some of those pictures that would have made it into the top 100 but for not following the entry requirements!

Entrants who are disappointed not to be included must remember…there is always next year!

Many thanks again to everyone for their participation and support.

Perhaps the most important award is that of The College Favourite, as voted for by all members of our community (pupils, parents, family members, staff and indeed Governors). If you would like to have your say, simply choose your favourite photograph and email your vote (the photographer’s name) to:

Alternatively you can register your choice with an Instagram 'like'. The Final 100 Photographs have also been posted onto the Art Department Instagram account.

Voting ends midnight on Friday 17th January (only one vote from each email account please) and boys can also cast their vote in school.

Kind regards,

Simon Roderick
