Music
The Music Department at St Ambrose College is a vibrant, busy and welcoming place that immerses itself in the wider life of the College.
Students have a wealth of opportunities to showcase their musical talents through school shows (most recently 'A Carol for Christmas' and 'The Big Top'), awards evenings, carol concerts and religious-based music making throughout the year. The Department recently took its orchestra and choir to perform at Disneyland Paris and Rothschild Hospital in Paris and hopes to take its next adventure to New York.
The Department facilitates a range of clubs which includes the choir, staff choir, orchestra, school of rock, brass band, clarinet quartet, jazz band, music theory club and music technology club. The Music Department prides itself on providing high quality performances, whilst also being accessible to all.
Instrumental Teaching
We are lucky to have a highly qualified, talented and committed team of peripatetic tutors that are able to provide private music tuition outside of the classroom curriculum. These lessons are offered on a weekly basis at competitive rates. Lessons take place during normal school hours but are on a rotation system to minimise disruption.
Peripatetic instrumental teaching staff offer tuition on the following:
Drums |
Guitar |
Flute |
Clarinet | Piano | Violin |
Bass | Saxophone | Trumpet |
If you would like your son to learn a musical instrument at school please contact Miss Yates, Director of Music.
